Receive your W-2s electronically
Beginning with tax year 2017, active employees may choose to receive their W-2 statement electronically instead of on a paper form. To receive an electronic W-2, each employee must consent to receive the electronic version. This consent is completed through Employee Self Service.
Employee consent for 2017 must be submitted no later than December 31, 2017. Between January 1 and approximately mid-January of each year, there will be a black out period for entering electronic consent while SAO completes W-2 processing.
How does it work?
Active employees log into Employee Self Service (ESS) and update their personal information and e-mail address. This is important so that employees will receive email communications related to W-2s. If active employees do not have an updated email address they will not receive any W-2 notifications.
Active employees log into Employee Self Service (ESS) and provide their consent to receive the electronic W-2 by clicking the consent link using the following navigation: Main Menu > Self Services > Payroll and Compensation > W-2 Consent.
When electronic W-2s are available, SAO will post the announcement on the TeamWorks HCM home page in News and Announcements and send a communication. Electronic W-2 are expected to be available around January 11, 2018.
Paper copies will be provided through your agencies regular W-2 process for active employees that did not consent (opt-in) by December 31.
